Shot entirely in Cuba, Kelly Daniela Norris’ beautiful romance follows Maribel, a young Mexican woman, as she traverses Havana in the wake of her brother’s suicide trying to make sense of the grief she is feeling. Here, she meets Eusebio, a petty thief and wood craftsman, who becomes her tour guide through a bustling and vibrant city brimming with possibility. Particularly attuned to the smaller moments that make such a resounding emotional impact, the film is a gorgeous representation of how memory and perspective merge together.
