    In 1964, a young Brazilian filmmaker by the name of José Mojica Marins dared to bring his feverish dream to the big screen at a time when independent cinema was hardly even a word. Armed with pure determination, boundless creativity, and sincere love for his story, he was able to write, direct, and star in a film that would gain international renown for both Marins and for his home country of Brazil. This film kicked off the “Coffin Joe” series of morbid oddities that continues to this day!
