Jean is a high school senior living a privileged life in an affluent neighborhood in Rio. While racial and class tensions present themselves in various forms, Jean remains oblivious, choosing instead to focus on his primary concern: girls. However, beyond the facade of Jean’s luxurious existence lies the reality of his family’s financial situation, one that indicates his father may be inching toward financial ruin. This causes small, initially inconspicuous changes in Jean’s everyday life. However, his father’s rising desperation and several unexpected circumstances, prompt Jean to contemplate a life without the luxuries he once took for granted.
